Terms of Service

Score to Video is made and operated by Teeny Signals. In these terms, "Teeny Signals," "we," "us," and "our" all mean Teeny Signals, and "you" means the person or organization using the service. These terms are the agreement between you and Teeny Signals. By creating an account, buying credits, or using the studio, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Overview

Score to Video turns a PDF of sheet music and a recording into a score-follow video. The studio tool runs in your browser: your PDF, audio, MusicXML, and image files stay on your device, and the video is rendered locally by your computer. Teeny Signals provides the studio tool, accounts, the credit system, and the site itself.

We use PostHog for product analytics and Polar as our merchant of record for purchases. The Privacy Policy sets out what each of them receives, and how to opt out of analytics.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Score to Video (at least 16 if you are in the EU or the UK). If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. Accounts

An account needs a working email address, which we verify before you can sign in. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

3. Credits

Exports with a watermark are free. A credit is spent only when you export a final video in 1080p or 4K without a watermark.

Credits are not currency. They are not money, not a stored-value or gift-card balance, not a deposit, and not property. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged, and cannot be redeemed for cash. The act of purchasing a credit is itself the paid service you are buying; the purchase is complete at the moment it is made.

Credits do not expire on their own. That is not a promise that the service will run forever: see section 5 for what happens if Score to Video is suspended or shut down, and section 9 for what happens to a credit balance when an account is closed.

Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Polar, which acts as the merchant of record and applies any sales tax or VAT. If you buy credits before making an account, those credits are held against the email address you used at checkout and are added to the account you create with that address.

4. Refunds

We will refund unspent credits on request within 7 days of purchase. After 7 days, purchases are final. Spent credits are not refundable. Nothing in this section limits statutory rights you have as a consumer, including any right of withdrawal, which are exercised against Polar as merchant of record.

If something goes wrong with a purchase, or a credit is spent on an export that fails through no fault of your own, contact support. We will restore any credit lost because of the failure and make good-faith efforts to diagnose and fix the issue. This does not create a right to a refund outside the periods or statutory rights described above.

5. Availability of the service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue Score to Video, in whole or in part, at any time. If we end the service entirely, we will email account holders at the address on their account to tell them so.

If the service ends, we will refund unspent credits purchased within the 30 days before the service ends. Credits bought more than 30 days before that date are not refunded.

6. Affiliate program

The affiliate program is an optional extra, not part of the core service. Any account holder may join it from the affiliates page and receive a personal referral link. This section governs the program for everyone it touches: the affiliate who shares a link, and the customer who buys credits after following one.

If you are an affiliate. When someone follows your link and then makes their first ever purchase of credits, we add one credit to your account. You earn on a referred customer's first purchase only, never on their later ones, and never on your own: referring yourself, or buying through your own link, earns nothing. A customer is identified by the email address used at checkout, so one person is one customer however many times they buy and whether or not they were signed in — buying again from a fresh browser session does not make them a new customer, and a purchase made under your own address does not earn. Referrals are attributed using a marker stored in the customer's browser for up to 30 days after they follow your link, and our own records of that attribution are the sole basis for what you earn. A marker that is cleared, blocked, or expired means no attribution and no credit. If a purchase is refunded, reversed, charged back, or found to be fraudulent, we may reverse the credit it earned.

Credits earned through the program are credits, with every limit in section 3. They are not money, not commission, not a share of revenue, and not payment for services. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold, exchanged, or redeemed for cash, and are not refundable. The program pays in credits and in nothing else. Taking part does not make you an employee, agent, partner, or joint venturer of Teeny Signals, and it does not entitle you to speak for us or to make promises on our behalf.

Disclosing that your link is an affiliate link is your responsibility. Whenever you share your referral link, you are responsible for disclosing both that it is an affiliate link and that you receive compensation when someone buys through it. In the United States that means complying with the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) and the FTC's related disclosure guidance: the disclosure must be clear and conspicuous, sit close to the link itself rather than in a bio, a profile, a page footer, or behind a "more" or "see description" expander, and work in the medium you are using, which for video or audio can mean a spoken or on-screen disclosure rather than text alone. Your compensation under this program is non-monetary: you receive Score to Video credits, not cash, commission, or a share of the sale, and your disclosure must not state or imply otherwise. A disclosure along the lines of "affiliate link: I get free export credits if you buy through this" conveys both points. Requirements differ by country, and many platforms add their own paid-promotion labeling rules on top of the law, so check what applies to you and to where you are posting. Teeny Signals does not review, approve, or monitor how you present your link, and you alone are responsible for meeting these obligations and for the consequences of failing to.

If you follow an affiliate link. Following a link may give you 10% off your first credit-pack purchase, applied at checkout as a single-use code that expires 24 hours after it is issued. It is a welcome offer for new customers: if you have bought credits before, whether signed in or as a guest under the same email address, you pay the usual price even with a referral link. The discount applies to the pre-defined credit packs sold on this site and to nothing else: it does not apply to custom, negotiated, or invoiced purchases arranged through sales, and it does not stack with other offers. One live code exists per account at a time, so further purchase attempts within those 24 hours reuse the same code rather than issuing another. Nothing else about your purchase changes: the credits you buy, and your rights under sections 3 and 4, are exactly the same as they would be without a link.

The program and the discount are not commitments, and we may end either at any time. The affiliate program is offered at Teeny Signals' sole discretion. We may change, suspend, or discontinue it in whole or in part, alter or remove the rate at which credits are earned, disable individual referral links, or close the program entirely, at any time and without notice. The 10% discount is a promotional offer, not a term of sale. We are not committed to offering it, and we may reduce, suspend, or withdraw it at any time, for everyone or for particular links, without notice. No one has a right to the continued existence of the program, to a particular earning rate, or to the discount, and nothing on the affiliates page or in any promotional material is a guarantee of future earnings. Ending the program does not remove credits already earned and added to an account, which remain subject to section 3.

Leaving the program. You can leave at any time by emailing hello@scoretovideo.com from the address on your account and asking us to remove you. We will take your account out of the program and retire your referral link, after which it stops applying discounts, stops attributing purchases, and stops earning credits. Credits you have already earned stay on your account and remain subject to section 3. Leaving the program does not close your account or change anything else about it; closing an account is covered by section 9.

Misuse. Do not manufacture referrals. That includes self-referral through additional or fake accounts, spam, bots or scripted traffic, bidding on our name in paid search, passing your link off as an official Teeny Signals channel, misrepresenting the service or its pricing, or any other attempt to obtain credits or discounts the program was not meant to give. We may withhold or reverse credits, void discount codes, disable a referral link, remove an account from the program, or act under section 9.

8. Content, ownership, and storage

Your scores, recordings, and the videos you export are yours. You remain responsible for having the rights to the material you use.

What we store. Your account details and your project's working data (project names, page crops, timing marks, and other alignment information) are saved to our servers so a project can follow you between devices. Your source files are not. PDF, audio, MusicXML, and image files stay on your device, cached in your browser, and are never uploaded to us. We do not host them and we take no license to them.

Images and logos. A watermark logo added to an unlocked project may be supplied as a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG file, up to 4 MB. Like every other source file, it is held only in your browser's storage on the device you added it from and is never uploaded to us; only the settings describing how to draw it (its position, size, and opacity, and any watermark text) are saved as project working data. The rest of this section — including that we are not a storage provider and give no guarantee your data will be preserved — applies to images exactly as it does to scores and recordings.

Score to Video is not a storage provider, a backup service, or an archive. Nothing in this service is a safe place to keep the only copy of anything. Your source files — scores, recordings, and images alike — live in browser storage, which the browser itself can evict at any time: clearing site data, using private browsing, running low on disk, or switching computers can all erase them permanently, and we cannot recover files we never held. The alignment data on our servers is likewise offered as a convenience, with no guarantee of durability, retention, or availability; it can be lost, corrupted, or deleted, including by hardware failure, a bug, or the service ending. We make no guarantee, express or implied, that any of your data will be preserved, recoverable, or accessible at any time, and we accept no liability for its loss. Keeping your own backups of your scores, recordings, and finished videos is entirely your responsibility.

The site, the studio software, our name, and our design remain the property of Teeny Signals. Nothing here transfers those rights to you. You may use the videos you export commercially, subject to whatever rights apply to the underlying music.

9. Suspension and termination

If you close your account. You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time. Deleting your account forfeits any credits left on it: we do not refund a credit balance when you delete your account, and credits cannot be restored afterwards. If you want a refund for a recent purchase, request it under section 4 before deleting.

If we close your account. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or creates legal risk for us. In that case we have no obligation to refund any credit balance other than credits purchased within the previous 7 days. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any unspent credits.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Score to Video is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or compatible with every browser or device, and we do not guarantee that alignment, cropping, or export will produce a particular result.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Teeny Signals is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost recordings, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the most recent revision, and the current version is always the one posted on this page. We may post minor changes here without a separate notice. If a change materially affects your rights or use of the service, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a material change, you may request a refund for unspent credits purchased within the 7 days before we sent the notice, then close your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a material change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
